Payment Options

• PayPal Credit Card Payment
  
  • PayPal has extended its service to 37 countries
  • Transaction is processed in US$. Please note - while multiple currencies are available, we only accept PayPal payments in U.S. currency. Please indicate on your order that you would like to know the total in US$ (use the Comments section).
  • This is one of the most convenient ways of making online payments, once you have set up your account.
  • If you are an international user, it takes a few days for PayPal to "verify" your credit card for the first time. This is only required once. Create your free personal account ahead of time and be prepared.
  • No fees. There is no cost to you when you use this service to pay for your purchases.
  • We ship immediately upon notification from PayPal.
  • How: Go to the PayPal site, log into your account and choose "send money". Use john@johnsheffield.com as our e-mail address in the form.

• Visa - Mastercard - American Express
  
  • We process your purchases ourselves.
  • If we already have your card number from a previous transaction we can process immediately upon your e-mail authorization.
  • No fees.
  • We ship immediately upon authorization.
  • How: Email us your credit card details, or fax 1-519-668-6872. We need your card number, expiry date and your name as it appears on the card.

• Discover Card
  
  • At the moment, we do not accept the Discover card. Depending on your country of residence, you may be able to use your Discover card, through PayPal.

• Cheques
  
  • We accept cheques drawn on Canadian or U.S. banks.
  • In most cases we do not wait for cheques to clear before shipping. We may, at our discretion, require time for cheque clearance if two or more of the following factors apply to this transaction:
    • We have not done business together before.
    • The cheque is for a significant amount.
    • If an eBay purchase, you are new to eBay based on your registration date or feedback rating.
  • Cheques will not be accepted from eBay bidders with negative feedback pertaining to bounced cheques or from bidders with significant negative feedback.
  • Cheque clearance from Canada to the U.S. takes 3 weeks. If two or more of the above factors apply to this transaction, we recommend one of the other available payment methods.
  • How: Send your cheque to our mailing address below (also on your e-mail invoice from us).

• Money Orders
  
  • Canadian and U.S. Postal Money Orders, or any other CDN$ or US$ money orders purchased in the US, or drawn on a Canadian or US bank are acceptable.
  • International Money Orders from the U.S.P.S., Western Union, banks etcetera are accepted in either CDN$ or US$.
  • We ship upon receipt.
  • How: Send to our mailing address below (also on your e-mail invoice from us).
    Make payable to "John Sheffield Philatelist Ltd.".

• Cash
  
  • While we do accept cash payments we strongly recommend one of the other payment methods listed be used.
  • We accept cash payments in any major currency, and many minor ones. For non-US$ payments, ask us for an exchange rate.
  • Cash payments are sent strictly at your own risk. Sending via registered mail is not a guarantee!
  • We recommend you do not send cash in a greeting card sized envelope. Birthday cards often include cash, and postal handlers around the world know it!
  • How: Very carefully! Send to our mailing address below (also on your e-mail auction invoice from us).
